I had a request to make a cover for a journal used daily for a family member. This time I went for the feel of a book that had some age to it. I am still working out a method to age leather with different dyes, atom wax, and oil. I was rather pleased by the finish product and it should have years of use. Already have plans in the future to add in business card holders and a inside pocket but for now it’s a gift and I need to work on other projects
if your looking for a real aged look, try beating the leather up before you cut and sew. (it's a stress reliever and is really fun too! especially since leather can take it ). I tried it on one of my journals as a suggestion from a family member, so I took it outside, hit it with rocks, against trees, rubbed it in the dirt and hit it with a mallet. Aged look is was I got xD
